Students out in force to support strikes

Strikes took place across the pre-1992 Universities of England today – and students were out in force to support them. Picket lines have been carnivals of resistance with music, outdoor study areas and workshops making banners and placards for Saturday’s demonstration. Goldsmiths CollegeStudents have occupied Deptford Town Hall in support of the strike, and in the University of East London (pictured above) students are occupying after a protest against the closure of the Humanities department – send messages of support to savehss@live.co.uk.
The next day of action will be on Thursday, with strikes in all colleges and universities across the country. In many cities strikers, students and supporters from different institutions will be uniting for a rally or march. The details for London are:
