Activist Diary: January

Make it your number one resolution for 2011 to help take forward the movement for the right to education! As of January no new applicants will be accepted for the Education Maintenance Allowance and both Houses of Parliament have voted to increase tuition fees – but, as they say in France, what Parliament does the streets can undo.

Spring will bring a national demonstration against cuts for the entire TUC and the prospective of coordinated strikes in the public sector, but fightback 2011 will already be underway from the moment  the students return in January.

Dates for your diary (watch this space for further details):

Friday 7th January: Nick Clegg’s Surprise Party

Wednesday 26th January: Day X4 to defend EMA

Saturday 29th January: National demonstration for education

Sunday 30th January: National assembly for education
