Globalise the Fightback EAN meeting at Birkbeck College on Friday May 27 at 6pm

The Education Activist Network has organized a forum for Friday evening. A lecturer called Hala Kamal from Cairo University and 9th March movement who will be addressing the UCU conference the following day has agreed to speak about the struggles of getting rid of University VCs with links to the Mubarak regime. Esther and Hugo, two of the main activists from Real Democracy Ya! and the occupation of Belgrave Square in London have also agreed to speak. And we will be having a live video-link up with an activist from the Spanish youth organization Juventud Sin Futuro who have been at the centre of the mobilizations in Madrid.

This could be a great event given that June 30 is only six weeks away! Listen to Esther give an exclusive interview for EAN:

Speakers:

– Esther and Hugo – Real Democracy Ya! (A campa de Londres)

– Rita Maestre – Juventud Sin Futuro (live video link-up from Madrid)

– Hala Kamal, lecturer from Cairo University

– Sara Tomlinson, NUT (pc) & ‘Stop kettling our kids’

  1. I have seen lots of useful things on your web-site Globalise the Fightback EAN meeting at Birkbeck College on Friday May 27 at 6pm Education Activist Network about pcs. However, I have the impression that lap tops are still more or less not powerful enough to be a wise decision if you normally do things that require lots of power, for instance video touch-ups. But for internet surfing, statement processing, and a lot other frequent computer functions they are fine, provided you may not mind the small screen size. Appreciate sharing your ideas.
