10 000 students take it to the streets…

Today 10 000 students took it to the streets of London. Inspired by the recent occupations of Wall Street and London, the Mass strikes in Greece students marched from Bloomsbury to London Met City Campus.

The demonstration was large, loud and lively and did not limit itslef only to chants against fees and cuts. Home-made banners and placards ran through the demonstration like a red thread.

When students heard that striking electricians were being kettled, students chanted ‘students and workers unit and fight’. It is that spirit which will be crucial to win the battles ahead and build a maximum turnout for November 30.

Jamie, a Goldmsith students says: ‘the demo was good as it represented an importnat step toward N30. Unity between students and staff and with the electricians is the kind of solidarity we need to win’.

Reports from FE students will follow shortly.
