SOLIDARITY DEMONSTRATION AT SOAS (RUSSELL SQUARE) AT 4.30PM ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17

Representatives of the Bloomberg Company will be holding a careers talk at SOAS TODAY. The Bloomberg Company is owned by NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg who ordered the violent eviction of Occupy Wall Street. Join us!

On November 17, Occupy Wall Street has called for student walk-outs and education strikes. Thousnads of school and university students will be walking-out and showing their discontent with the privatisation and corporatization of their education system. In San Francisco and Los Angeles students will be taking action against 81% increase in tuition fees.

While thousands will be demonstrating across the Atlantic, workers and stud…ents will be taking it to the streets across the Mediterranean countries. In Greece, November 17 coincidies with the uprising at the Polytechnic University in Athens in the year of 1973. This marked the end of the dictatorship. Students and workers will be taking it to the streets and celebrating the end of the former dictatorship and resisting against the current dictatorship of the Troika (IMF, ECB, EU).

In Italy, November 17 marks the day of the ‘right to education’. After Berlusconi’s departure as PM. These protests will bring thousands into the streets.

Back in Latin America, Chilean students  and professors will be organising a caravan to Valparaiso. Chilean students will again show their determination against a fully-privatised education system

Here in London, we will bring together studentsm, workers, actvists to show our support with the Occupy! movement and with students across the globe fighting back.
