Occupy Cambridge

This afternoon, Cambridge Defend Education held a speak-out outside of the lecture hall to address the question ‘the idea of the university’.

More than 60 students and staff participated. After that, protesters made their way into the lecture hall. As soon as Willetts took the stage a human microphone overbeared Willetts by telling him what their idea of the university was.

The text will follow soon.

Willetts’ refused to resume his talk on ‘the idea of the university’.

Students are now occupying the lecture hall.

Brilliant and valid way it interrupt the constant stream of propaganda that politicians expect us to lap up like grateful dogs. Keep up the good work. x

the activists involved, one presumes, are individuals different from those who have been repeating as a mantra that the great thing about the occupy movement is that it opens up a space for free debate and dialogue…
