Quebec student strike

Quebec students are fighting the battle to preserve access to education. In fact, a general student strike is in effect currently in the province of Quebec against the 75% tuition fee hike announced by the government. Over 65,000 students are already on unlimited general strike and the number of students/schools on strike is growing everyday.
In this context, there’s a call by the enlarged coalition of Association for Solidarity among Student Unions (CLASSE, see (in French): http://www.asse-solidarite.qc.ca/spip.php?page=accueil&lang=fr) to organize an international day of solidarity where various associations from across the world are invited to join in to protest against the neo-liberal policies/austerity measures that have triggered these hikes.

Some info on the status of student strikes against the tuition fee hike, privatization and commodification of education in Quebec is at
